and another...

and a view from street-level, which is even with the 4th floor...

I love Te Puni because it's really close to campus and it has great views of the city but there is one problem...it is on the top of a GIANT hill.
The following pictures are from the deck of Te Puni down to the rugby field, so you'll just have to imagine what it's like to climb up them. First, there is this misleading moderate slope:

and then, the stairs of death:

There are even more hills to traverse on the way down to town, but I didn't want to climb them so, unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of them. Sorry. One day I will post a picture of Te Puni from the city because I don't think you appreciate just how GIANT this hill is. After all, I can't post all the good ones right away, that's how I get you to keep reading. It's my hook.
Te Puni Village includes three buildings - the Edge, Tower, and Terrace. The building in the pictures is the Edge. I live on the very respectable 10th floor of the Edge. Other floors, such as floor 1, aka "The Dungeon", have not so respectable reputations. I was told that they put the wild kids on the bottom floors for "safety reasons". Moving on...
The dining room is on the 7th floor of the Tower.

It has beautiful views of the city...

the harbor...

and the houses in the hills...

Each floor has a common room which has a kitchen area, couches, and a television. Here is the 10th floor common room:

New Zealand gets a mixture of American, British, and New Zealand television shows. On most nights, everyone gathers in the common room after dinner to watch Friends.
Here is my hallway:

and the view from the end of the hallway:

and my door...

and my room...

Here is the view from my window:

The road leads to campus, which is about five minutes away.
